Maui Diving
I've got over 400 logged dives, mostly in the Caribbean and Hawaii, but I never got into photography. The cameras and equipment were very expensive, took up a lot of room on the dive boat, took forever to get set up, and still produced a mostly blue picture. Well, that has sure changed! For only $200 I purchased a Sealife Ecoshot and it produces GREAT underwater photos and video. It's a 6 megapix digital camera, or 320 x 240 video, and with a 1 gig card can hold around 400 pictures or over 20 minutes of video. The images all required a little processing....I increased the saturation and contrast of almost every shot, and subtracted a little blue and green from each shot. I think the results are excellent for only $200.
Since I was doing photography I stayed fairly shallow, mostly in the 30 to 50 foot range. The camera is certified to 75 feet, but most user reviews say it works great to 100 feet or deeper. It also works great for snorkeling, but the camera does sink so don't let go of it!
